What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, together with basic technical information created automatically when any website is visited.
- Enquiry details. When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, telephone number if you provide one, your stated area of interest and the content of your message.
- Correspondence. If we continue the conversation by email, telephone or in person, we keep a record of what was discussed and agreed.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, which include the IP address of the visiting device, the pages requested and the date and time. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
We do not ask for financial details, identity documents or any special category data through this website.
Why we use it and on what basis
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange an initial conversation. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into any agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
- To provide the guidance you have asked for, including introductions to third parties. Where this involves passing your details to another person, we rely on your consent, which we will ask for at the time. See Introductions below.
- To keep records and meet our legal obligations, including accounting and, where relevant, anti-money-laundering requirements. Our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
- To keep the website secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site.
We do not send marketing emails and we do not add enquiries to a mailing list without asking you first.
Introductions to other professionals
A central part of what we do is introducing clients to selected professionals, for example lawyers, developers, property specialists or advisers. We will not pass your personal information to any third party for this purpose without first telling you who they are and obtaining your agreement. Once an introduction is made, that professional becomes responsible for the information you share with them and will handle it under their own privacy policy.
Who else processes your information
- Web3Forms delivers the contact form to our inbox. Your submission passes through their service.
- Our email provider stores the resulting correspondence.
- Our hosting provider stores the website files and server logs.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used on this site. Your IP address is sent to Google when a page loads. See our Cookie Policy.
These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. We do not sell personal information to anyone.
Transfers outside the United Kingdom
Some of the providers listed above operate outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where information is transferred, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to further contact are deleted after 24 months. Where we go on to work with you, we keep records for six years after the relationship ends, so that we can answer questions about what was discussed and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@oshinpathfinders.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiries and correspondence is limited to those who need it in order to respond to you.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
